Phoenix, Arizona Unveils New Murdock Water Bottle Filling Stations in Downtown

The City of Phoenix, Arizona, is launching a new program to make it easier to stay hydrated—and Murdock® outdoor drinking fountains and water bottle filling stations are a key component. The Office of Innovation unveiled two new GYQ84 combination outdoor drinking fountains and bottle fillers in downtown Phoenix.
The units offer chilled water—a critical touch in a city where average summer temperatures routinely top 100° F. The cool blue powdercoat is eye catching and hints at the refreshment contained within.
Two arms offer drinking fountains and the central column hosts a bottle filler, cutting down on plastic waste from single-use water bottles and providing lasting refreshment.
These two new chilled water bottle filling stations are only the beginning for Phoenix. “We’ll move out from this and create a network across the city. That’s the vision,” said Phoenix Office of Innovation Director Michael Hammett.
It’s a big step for the city’s goal to promote clean and cool water—a goal Murdock Mfg. has been dedicated to since 1865.
