Murdock Manufacturing Women’s History Month Profile: Hortencia Upchurch

Murdock Manufacturing is commemorating Women’s History Month in March with profiles of some of the women who play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations and manufacturing of Murdock® drinking fountains, water coolers, bottle fillers, hydrants, and more.

Hortencia Upchurch is Vice President of Fabricación y Manufacturas in Mexico and has worked for the company for 34 years. She is responsible for the optimal operation of the company, including setting goals and strategies, managing objectives and budgets, and making action plans to achieve objectives.

For Hortencia, Women’s History Month is a time to celebrate women’s achievements and take measures that help improve the quality of life of women, including “providing them with better opportunities in all areas of their lives, as well as recognition for what they do.” Hortencia says it is important for women to “stand together to fight for their rights to be equal.”
